I've noticed that I make several mistakes while doing drawn animation.

The first is as I progress through the drawings I don't pay attention to form. I work too fast (probably due in part that the college sets such tight deadlines), and as a result the image wobbles slightly. I was colouring some animation today and I noticed it wobbling. You can see what i mean here.
The second thing I do wrong is perhaps trace the under image more than draw it over again. This is difficult. There has to be a balance. Obviously you need to trace somewhat in order for the images to have some consistency, but at the same time you can't rely on this. I'm not paying attention to my lines. I need to slow down. I'm just in a panic because I want to finish it on time.

The other problem is as I go through the sheets of paper, you can see through them. This fools me sometimes into thinking the lines are tracing are thicker than they are, when rather they're a combination of all the different drawings underneath.

Sigh...I need to be careful and pay more attention. So tiring.

I finished The Master and Margarita last night and got inspired to draw the cat in it. I enjoy character design so much more....can you tell?:P

Just a follow up on the previous post. I found these really useful notes online:

http://www.animationmeat.com/notes/featureanimation/featureanimation.html

Specifically the pdfs "Ten Steps to a perfect Inbetween" and "Helpful Hints for Cleanup".

I reccomend that anyone on my course also download them. And so with that, I'm off to "study" them so that I can make my animation skills stronger.
