Apr. 12th, 2010 11:20 amDr. Ng has informed me that the Phylo article should be in the next issue of Wired, which goes on sale on May 6th. Note this refers to the UK issue. I have no idea about the American copy.
I had a fun weekend.
velvetfur and I were going to head the Barbican to see the metal zebra finches, but when we both realized that it would either involve a costly ticket for her or a long, hot bus ride for me, we decided to postpone it.
Instead we went looking around Carnaby street. Yeah, it's a hipster haven( I didn't see many hipsters mainly tourists), but you can still find inspiration there as an artist, which is pretty much what we did. (In all honesty, I wonder if only the rich shop there because while everything was pretty to look at, it was damned expensive.)
A lot of the shops had taxidermy in them. Here's a big rhea in a shop called Concrete.

We also visited The Great Frog, who have designed all the jewelry in the Harry Potter films. (photo by Annie Scott)

The decor in there was awesome. Full of animal bones and strange artifacts. Again, way too expensive for our pockets. This place routinely has rock stars come in and buy stuff. I can't imagine I would buy anything there even if I was rich. It seems too decadent. I guess that's the point. I was actually a lot more interested in this poster they had on the wall from the 1970's:

hehe frog armpit.
That was my weekend, how about yours?
