I was exhausted when this class happened due to health problems, but it was fun just the same.

Beetle specimens

These are live chinese Owl Moth caterpillars. Judith, who works in the Entomology department said that if I could find a supply of privet she'd give me some to raise.

My charcoal rendering of a cicada. Was very tired when I did this one.

The day before I had taken Lottie to see the Ronald Searle exhibition at the Cartoon Museum. One thing I noticed while we were looking at his illustrations, was that he didn't seem very fond of the idea of American tourists trampling all over Native American land, and this resulted in some excellent drawings of the subject. I bought a postcard of one:

So it's the weekend now, and I've socialized and been ill most of the week, so now it's me time. I suspect today will mainly involve sleeping and drawing.

Gina, would you like to have that female Red-Spotted Purple butterfly I collected last summer? She's lost an antenna and got a wee bit battered when a gust of wind blew her off the shelf, but is otherwise in good shape...I'll probably never do anything with her, so I'd like her to go to a good home. Think it over, ok?

Cool- shoot me an email at champloo4unme@yahoo.com, ok? I don't know how much it'll cost to send her to you, but I'd imagine it couldn't possibly be very much.
